Lessons from the caterpillar on a leaf

I was in the woods with one of friends and she knows that I love taking pictures of anything that I see in the woods. She pointed me to a caterpillar on the leaf and thought I would be interested to take the picture. She was totally right. I didn’t just take the picture but that caterpillar on that leaf taught me some very important lessons that I would like to share here.

As I was looking at the caterpillar I stared thinking……This creepy looking caterpillar 🐛 is going to develop into a beautiful butterfly 🦋.

The caterpillar starts off as a tiny egg hiding on a leaf hardly able to crawl but comes out a butterfly that flys high. But it is going to take some time and the caterpillar will have to have that patience to let its body develop completely before it can turn into a butterfly. The body parts of a caterpillar undergoes a remarkable transformation, called ‘metamorphosis’ and once that process of transformation is complete a beautiful butterfly is emerged.

If you are going to judge the caterpillar in its current state you may not be able to appreciate the beauty that lies within it. But just because someone doesn’t see the hidden beauty that the caterpillar has within doesn’t stop the caterpillar from developing into what it is capable of.

Similarly, just because you are at a state in life where you are hardly able to crawl doesn’t mean you don’t have the potential to fly. Just because someone doesn’t see the beauty within you doesn’t mean you are not. It’s just a matter of time and patience. Everything under the sun has the potential to grow and prosper. Believe in yourself and keep hanging on to your leaf.

Your potentials are beyond what anyone can see or sometimes beyond what you can imagine.

Simple yet very important.

With love,

Tshering.
